Welcome to the Website of Glasgow CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale in Glasgow and most of the West of Scotland! CAMRA is the pub-goers champion, we promote fine beers in great pubs and defend the rights of the drinker. If you drink beer or like pubs CAMRA is the place for you!

Do you enjoy the occasional pint? Do you like going to unspoilt traditional pubs? Do you like tasty beers, well kept and served refreshingly cool? Do you enjoy eating at pubs which serve delicious food cheaper than at restaurants? Perhaps your ideal Sunday is a short walk in the countryside finishing off at an immaculate country pub, or perhaps you just pop down the pub on Friday afternoon with your work colleagues to relax your way into the weekend.
If any of these sound like you then CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, may be just up your street. If you live in our area then this branch is busy working to protect your pleasure. If you don't live in this area please visit CAMRA's national site
.

This map shows roughly the area covered by the
Glasgow & West of Scotland branch. It doesn't look very large - but a third of the population lives here and real ale can be found in over 160 pubs in this area.

Communication

Apart from the CAMRA Members' monthly magazine, "What's Brewing", and this website, there are two communication tools for Branch members. There is the Branch newsletter the "Glasgow Guzzler" and there is a Branch Email list.

For more information about the Guzzler, click on the icon below.

The Branch Email list gives members the opportunity to communicate with all the other members on the list. This can be the fastest way to spread the word about new breweries, pub openings, campaigning issues or simply changes to event times and places. If you are interested in joining the Branch Email List, click on the icon below for more information. This is also the place to go to
remove your name from the list, or to tell us about a change to your email address.

Members' Weekend 2005

Glasgow was the host city for the CAMRA's 2005 AGM and Members' Weekend. More information, including details of pub crawls that were set up at the time to allow visitors to sample  some of Glasgow's finest beers and pubs, can be found on our Members' Weekend page
.

Meetings

Formal Branch meetings are held once a month in a suitable pub in the branch area. Socials are organised on the first Monday of each month and at other times, often coinciding with CAMRA and other beer festivals.
